This is my first pacer project. I was so glad to be selected as one of the pacers for the 15km (1.5 hours) group.
Since I set the goal of completing a marathon in 2024, I have tried to be more active in going for runs and also to be more involved in the running community. This is my first time as a pacer and I’m looking forward to meeting new people and contributing back to the community.
This pacing project is facilitated by the Running Department. Founded in 2013, Running Department is a no-frills Singapore-based running community fueled by runners with a strong passion for running. We’re not your usual running club or team but a community that welcomes runners of all ages and walks of life to come together to train and support one another. We believe strongly in our vision of keeping running free and accessible to all.
My first training race starts tomorrow night.
In fact, there is a training programme that all pacers have to go through in order to prepare for this run. We have training runs twice a week (Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings). Hit me up if you’re keen to join.
Stay tuned as I update my journey as a pacer.
21 August 2024
Kicked off my first training run in CBD. Completed 10km at 5.30min/km pace. Look at the crowd! I wasn’t expecting so many people. I had initially thought that it was just a training run for the pacers, but I guess I was wrong. It was really nice to see so many people coming together to work out.
