Writing this at the car workshop because some issues came up with my car. I’m waiting and hoping that everything will turn out well and that all my plans for today will work out the way I had hoped for. Despite the situation, I’m thankful for this “alone time” when I can read this psalm and reflect.
My thoughts
David who wrote this when people were sent to his house to kill him.
How many of us have people waiting and wanting to kill us?
Despite staring death in the face, David called out to God to deliver him.
How many of us will call out to God to deliver us from our challenges?
Of course, we call out to Him, you say. But perhaps, that’s after we do all we can.
How many of us will look to Him for deliverance as our first option?
Wicked people walk around like they are in control. They talk loud, they think that they are above all.
How many times have we forgotten about God when we choose to do evil?
God’s love for us is steadfast. It is never changing.
How fickle are we in our devotion to our King? How quickly do we turn away from Him?
No matter how his enemies intimidate him, David chose to sing of God’s strength and love.
How many times have we allowed our minds and hearts to be depressed by our fear?
You are my fortress and refuge in my distress. You are my hope and joy in my depression.
Will I choose the unchanging God or the changing circumstances?
O God, I will sing praises to you, for You are my fortress and Your love is steadfast.
Will I choose to sing praises to You, knowing that You are my Rock and Defender?
